I watched Beyond after mainlining TOS (and then realised the films weren’t on netflix so I had to skip straight to TNG, grumble grumble) and appreciated even more the casting. For everyone in the reboot, really, but in particular - Karl Urban’s Bones. He manages to channel DeForest Kelley without lampooning him, down to the tics and facial expressions. It’s bloody wonderful to watch.
