So I can now officially say that Seth Numrich is the shyest, most adorable man I have ever met.
He came out from the stage door about 10-15 minutes after curtain, I made eye contact and I could almost see him steeling himself to talk to someone. I had planned to ask for a photo but I didn’t want to subject the poor man to that. So in the words of my friend I was the most British person ever.
Seth: *walking past, rucksack on one shoulder*
Me: Seth?
Seth: *looks over at me, polite smile*
Me: I’m sorry, would you mind terribly signing my programme?
Seth: *voice barely above a whisper* Sure *takes programme and pen, then looks a bit lost* Um, where would - is anywhere okay?
Me: Oh, yep, anywhere is fine. *watches him sign, head bowed*
Me: I just wanted to say how wonderful the play was, you were all brilliant.
Seth: *same very very soft voice* Oh, thank you *smiles at me and I DIE* that’s very kind of you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. *looks over at my friend, who tries to smile encouragingly at the poor sweet boy as he hands the programme and pen back*
Me: Thank you. Have a good night!
Seth: *smiles and awkwardly waves and then heads off with his friend/handler/person*
Me and friend: *wait until he’s out of earshot then coo over how adorably awkward and shy he is, and how much we want to mother him*
So yes. That happened.
