I don’t know how many boys follow me, but I gotta bet there’s some. I just wanna tell y’all to be careful.

Abusive girls exist and what they’re doing is seen as like “badass tough don’t take no shit” but your girl should not hit you. Ever.

She should not demand for you to hand over your phone to look through.

She should not yell at you and humiliate you either alone or in front of people.

She shouldn’t make you distance yourself from your friends or family.

She shouldn’t scratch you or twist your arms.

She should not call you names.

She shouldn’t tell you ‘she’ll kill herself if you break up’

These are just a few examples of abuse and it’s just seen as okay when girls do it and god knows I’ve fallen victim to it a few times, but you shouldn’t have to.

Never worry about not being in a relationship. If they’re worth it, they won’t hurt you.

No one has the right to hurt you.

I wish someone had told me that these things are actually abuse. I would have been able to escape my ex so much sooner. Reblogging to help other people in similar situations

Same

Sometimes, it’s hard to identify abuse, especially when it’s what you learned to accept from someone you are supposed to trust, like a parent.

That’s where I learned that the abuse women inflict on men is supposed to be acceptable. That if you speak out against it or complain, it means you are a weak man. Hut, it is a weak man who doesn’t speak out. It is a weak person who accepts the abuse of another.

I became stronger by learning what tactics women use to abuse others, because it is not just done to men. And I speak up when I see abuse, whether perpetrated by a male or a female. Abuse should not be tolerated.

I don’t know if this has been said yet but major trigger warning for the fantastic beasts movie. There was very explicit parental abuse in there and I just want to make sure that no one gets hurt or is caught off guard when watching. Stay safe, lovelies!!

yep. This, so much. And I would argue gaslighting and manipulation by a replacement father figure as well.

Imagine twelve year old Harry not even knowing how awful his childhood with Dursleys had been until he gets to the Burrow.

Imagine him seeing Percy asleep with a book on his lap, and being baffled that a kid might feel comfortable enough in his own home to be so vulnerable in the living room.

Imagine Molly coming up to the attic to say goodnight to Ron and Harry, and Harry glancing at Ron when he hears her footsteps, trying to figure out what they had done wrong that day.

Imagine him asking George who does all the house chores, and thinking it’s a joke when George answers, “we all do.”

Imagine Ginny pestering Arthur with questions over the Daily Prophet, and Harry trying to shoot her warning looks to stop it! but then Mr. Weasley looks up and patiently answers every single one.

Imagine Bill popping in for a visit one evening and Harry being floored when Bill stops to chat with him.

Imagine Fred chasing after Harry in the yard, playfighting, but Harry actually begins to run for real fear of being hurt.

Imagine Molly burning something on the stove my accident and tossing it, imagine Harry mentioning to Ron, offhandedly, “she could’ve given that one to me, it’s what I eat at home when I mess up dinner” and not knowing why Ron is horrified.

Imagine Harry seeing what a normal, functioning family looks like, and realizing the absence of love in his own life.

I’m sorry I had to:

Fourteen year old Harry has learned and grown.

Harry wakes up to the smell of cooking bacon and the feeling of a worn blanket. He is in the couch after he and Ron fell asleep in the living room after late games of wizard’s chess. He feels safe.

Molly’s footsteps are heard from the hall and Harry soon relaxes his body. Molly is there to say goodnight and Harry knows he’ll respond in kind.

Harry tries to help do chores still. It’s a habit but he knows Ron appreciates the help and they get done sooner together. Molly praises them and Harry shuffles off embarrassed but happy.

Ginny doesn’t ask her father question after question very often. Harry finds himself taking her place, asking Arthur questions about wizards and being patiently led through each answer without repercussion.

Harry is excited when people visit the burrow now. Seeing Bill stop by lifts everyone’s mood and Harry feels comfortable approaching him for a greeting. Bill pulls him into a one armed hug before launching into another tale about being a cursebreaker.

Fred and George start a secret pact with the rest of the Wealsey children. Harry is not to be chased. Harry doesn’t notice the twins watching him. Doesn’t notice they soon cut their games short when Harry starts to panic. Doesn’t notice their nods of approval when they all head inside for lunch.

Harry is eating well and he knows it. It takes all his Griffindor courage to tell Molly that “maybe, if it’s okay, that, maybe he would like his eggs scrambled? Instead of runny like these? If-” Molly smiles warmly and with a swish of magic the eggs are being stirred about in a pan. He soon has a new plate and thanks her profusely to her continued amusement.

Harry knows this is what a real family is like and vows to never be like the Dursleys.

THANK YOU FOR THIS
