i like how they kinda threw continuity out the window for us. “magnus didnt have a beard in s1” fuck it lets do the s1 flasback anyways. “magnus wasnt wearing a jacket in 2.07” fuck it magnus needs something to take off during their first time. “alecs name in magnus’ phone was a. lightwood” fuck that lets make it alexander
#honestly I’m still super fond of my interpretation that the flashbacks are essentially Magnus memories#so they are tinged with the way he experiences things with Alec#the way Alec makes him feel#everything shines golden even if it maybe wasn’t all that golden at all but it shines that way bc it’s his hearts#light burning that bright#Alec’s hair is always messed in each flashback bc Magnus likes it that way when his hands have carded through it for long enough and it’s#all ruffled and gorgeous#Magnus has a goatee in the s1 flashback bc he can feel his own sitting around his mouth as he remembers#and he doesn’t really care if he had one at that time or not or what shirt he wore or what flowers#there were on the tables all that mattered was Alec’s tiny smile and Alec’s words ‘I trust you’#he’s got the jacket on bc he can’t for the love of god remember is he did have it on or not all he remembers is pulling at his layers and#undoing them for Alec and#undoing Alec and kissing him senseless and tasting his laughter in his own mouth like joy grew a taste#like happiness was a thing he could make his own and remember forever#I really like to explain those details like that bc they are Magnus memories and so we see them through his eye (via @dearestalec)
