been watching livestreams of US news channels lately and

1) they have a LOT of commercial breaks

2) i didn’t realize that ads for medicine were actually like this

ppl keep reblogging this and asking “well what are the medicine ads like in your country” and like…there aren’t any? It’s literally illegal to advertise prescription medicine here?

ARE YOU SERIOUS? I COULD ESCAPE THAR TORTURE TOO IF I LEFT

I live in Quebec and it’s illegal to advertise for meds, except for the usual like Motrin, Benadryl, etc. Anything that needs a prescription cannot be advertised.

Yeah this always confused the hell out of me. OTC meds (cold and flu, indigestion, light painkillers) are advertised, but not medication for things like asthma, it just seems completely bonkers. I mean….why would I ask my doctor for a drug based on an advert? P sure the doctors have training that helps them decide what’s likely to be best. I mean.
