every now and again i remember a dude friend of mine who wanted to cover liz phair’s “flower” with his band which, fine, except he wanted to change the lyrics to be about a girl with a vagina, which again, fine, except it’s a song about a woman who is interested in a specific dick, so i was like ughhhhh, ok, whatever, what genius lyrical adaptations exactly are you proposing, Stephen SondNoHomoHeim? and he paused for a second and then sang “Every time I see your face/I want to kiss your no-no place” and somehow that wasn’t the end of my attraction to men
