If you want to make Jewish people in your community feel welcome, I suggest:
1. Stop making a big deal out of Hanukkah. We don’t, unless it’s as a push-back against the constant pressure to DO CHRISTMAS.
2. When planning protests, rallies, events, meetings and marches, make sure they’re not on Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, or the first and last days of Pesach. (Also Eid, for that matter.)
If you don’t know why I mention those holidays, or when they are in the year, read up on those instead of assuming that singing “I have a Little Dreidel” at a Christmas concert covers your bases for inclusion.
