My favorite part of Captain Marvel was the fact that Carol keeps getting told to control her emotions throughout the movie and yet she continues to be just as emotional as she damn well pleases…AND it turns out to be the key to unlocking her power in the end. because as women aren’t we always being told to “tone it down”, to sit down and shut up, that stoicism=strength and emotions=weakness? So to turn around and give us a powerful female character who cries and rages and laughs, and to have that emotional, human side of her be her strength… this is the female characterization we need.

Just removed all the cat hair from the black table runner. Leave the room for ten minutes. Of course this happens. #CatMum #Sooty #MissBonnie #SootyAndBonnie

A quick look at Anathema (and a glance at Agnes Nutter on the way).

Several people have written to me politely or not so politely asking how it can be possible for Anathema to be the direct descendant (the great-great-great-great-great-great-great granddaughter) of someone from Lancashire, England, if she is played as a Puerto Rican raised in Malibu.

I have not replied. I worry that these people have not entirely grasped how humans a) reproduce and b) travel.

They deleted the original tweet to fix a typo, so here is the new and corrected one…

Well, then the droid does belong to you.

Luke: the droid says he belongs to you

Obi Wan, who knows full well that is anakin’s fucking nightmare robot: i don’t recall

Obi Wan said that while making hard eye contact with R2D2. He said that directly into that little disaster-bot’s face. He straight up ‘new identity who dis’ at the swearing robot bastard he’s known for half his life.

You are my balance, Michael. You always have been. And I am afraid that I will not find it again without you. Okay. Listen to me. Listen to me, little brother.

Random headcanon #5

Leonard can play the piano. Spock found out by the accident.

It was night shift as Spock walked through the hallways of the Enterprise. Actually he was on his way to the mess hall, but then he heard the faint sound of a piano.

His curiosity won and the half Vulcan made his way to the music room, that, as far as he knows was rarely used.

The door was half open and Spock could easily look inside. He was really surprised to see Mccoy sit there, playing the piano.

Even though Spock was aware that it was rude, not to make his presence known and just stand there watching, he just couldn’t look away, didn’t dared to interrupt.

The doctor looked concentrated, but still relaxed. It was obvious that he wasn’t an amateur.

As the play ended, however, Leonard looked up and saw Spock out of the corner of his eye.

He was startled and also a bit embarrassed. Spock was quick to excuse his behaviour, causing Leonard to chuckle slightly.

Later Spock found out that Leonard always played when he couldn’t sleep at all or had a nightmare. Playing the piano calmed him down.

That was the first of many nights Spock and Leonard would spend time together in the music room.

Sometimes Spock would just listen to Leonard playing. Sometimes they would talk more.

It became a habit and at some point Leonard realised Spock’s presence calmed him down as well.
