This started out as 1000 words of actual hellfire and turned into some combination of linkspam, commentary, mental health discussion, personal anecdote, and actual hellfire. I caught up on this entire show in a single month and that last episode was hard on me; I can only imagine what it’s been like for y’all in the long-term fandom. I’ve laid out the big picture as clearly as I could see it. The whole situation was bullshit and you’re not imagining it. Take care of yourselves and hang on with as much love as you can.
I helped put some of this together and mourned with Cleo. Hopefully it will help anyone out there feeling angry, sad, and alone about “just” a tv show. It’s not just a tv show, and you are’t wrong for feeling betrayed.
Much of what I wrote was grounded in four days of us howling into the void, and then Tamaro doing a good bit of the citation legwork for me while I said “where was the thing where they said the thing, you know, the THING???” and then we would capslock all over again for another ten minutes. If I hadn’t had her saying, “No, you are not imagining this, and you should tell other people they aren’t, either,” I don’t know that I would have been able to hit post. So: thank you.
