If Darth Vader hadn’t killed all the Jedi, there’s NO WAY Luke would have become a Jedi Master. Not for lack of talent, and definitely not because of the Dark Side, but dude, Luke Skywalker trying to comply with the “no emotional connections” policy?
The Council would be like “Luke, stop making friends, it is the Path to Corruption”
and Luke would be like “What? It’s only Han”
“What about these other 356,739,000 people you made friends with?”
“They’re really nice! If you got to know them-”
“And you and your sister need to stop saving each other. Only we can authorize rescues. Connection Is Bad.”
and so Luke Skywalker fled the Order in the dead of night, never to be seen again, except by his 356,739,000 friends, many of whom are in the Jedi Order anyway
The problem with this scenario is that Luke is the sort of guy who just kind of collects people.
So those 356,739,000 friends would end up following him out. Which means that eventually he’s settled down in a new place, surrounded by those 356,739,000, who include among them about 95% of the (former) Jedi Order, including some members of the Council.
He’ll figure it out, eventually. Probably a few years in, when his friends build themselves a temple, he’ll realize that he accidentally stole or founded a new Jedi Order.
*Ahem* Disney? I would 100% spend money to read, watch or play a Star Wars alternate timeline setting based around the idea that Luke has accidentally stolen a Jedi Order.
Just saying.
Leverage fusion: “All right, let’s steal the Jedi Order.”
dont, don’t tease me like that, with the Leverage and the Stealing and
omg I wish I had the skills to write this
