You remember that post about the homestuck t-shirt design contest collaborating with hot topic? And how Hot Topic are the biggest art thieves? This is recent. As you can see above, I stumbled upon Hot Topic’s website and they are selling a very popular fan art put on a t-shirt, and did not ask permission from the original artist (rismo).
This shows Hot Topic still continues their art thievery. Hot Topic are still taking art from artists without their permission. This is disrespectful and appalling.
EXCEPT YOU DID GIVE THEM YOUR PERMISSION.
BY AGREEING TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS ON DEVIANT ART.

Yep. Deleted over 400 drawings and photos from DA over an year ago. I used the site for over 8 years not knowing these terms of service since they don’t actually show them to you when you make an account. Sure you can find them if you do some digging but they don’t shove it to your face. Also it doesn’t matter if your art has a watermark or whatever. Like it says above they have the right to edit and modify your pics so they can just remove your useless watermarks and signatures and then use your art freely and you can’t complain because you have agreed to all of this. There is no reason whatsoever to use Deviantart (maybe if you are a stockartist that gives their shit for free lol). Leave this piece of shit site before they use you like the arrogant asshats they are.
For anyone who still uses DA, please read this.

y'all tbh get your art on professional onlline art galleries (the serious kind, you know what I’m talking about), use a free site thing like WIX or somethign to make a dropsite so people can find you through searches, and use whatever social media you want to get more of an audience. Never put all your eggs in one basket bc sites come, go, change their TOS, sell out, etc. Happy arting!
I cannot emphasize this enough for any and every creative, be it visual or written or aural: READ YOUR CONTRACTS. Because that’s what Term Of Service are - they’re contracts. And if they’re offering you something, ask “what are they taking in return?”
(if there isn’t an artist’s version of Writer Beware, there should be. @john-picacio, do you know of anything like that?)

3. Technically, this isn’t a photo, it’s a screenshot, but this is my blog so I make the rules, and how could I not list the screenshot that stole millions of hearts upon viewing it? I mean LOOK AT HIM. What are words? I don’t know, I don’t have any.
2. This is currently my phone’s lockscreen because, well, why the hell not? Those dark circles around his eyes look so good on him and it makes me irrationally angry, but whatever. That smile, though. That smile brightens my day every day. And the cozy sweater hugs him in ways I’ll never be able to.

And number one, for reasons I don’t really need to explain but I will anyway: You already know from pic #5 that I kinda sorta have a thing for his arms and this pic has me quoting JVN every time I look at it, “hold me until the pain goes away,” yessssssss. The concentration on his face while he’s engrossed in doing what he loves - creating a meal. And it may have been said before, but a guy who knows his way around a kitchen is sexy as fuck, okay? And it doesn’t hurt that he looks like Antoni Porowski, or even better, if he IS Antoni Porowski.
And that’s it, so yeah….umm…..yeah.

Part of me wants to shift the entirety of Magical Fantasy Adventure Land into the normal world instead of splitting it into a separate realm.
Part of me is still annoyed that this fucker still doesn’t have a proper title. Or at least something that sounds better as a place holder.
it’s called Mafalia. that’s your world’s name. ‘MAH-FAR-lee-uh’.
That actually sounds really good as a world name. I’m curious to know where that came from?
it’s the acronym. “Magical Fantasy Adventure Land”-ia becomes MaFAL-ia: Mafalia.
i always find if you need a placeholder name for something, write it out and make up an acronym, adding and removing letters or vowels if need be.
for example:
“The House Where Clio Fell in Love With Him”
“The HouseWhereClioFellinLoveWithHim”
“THoWeCliFiLWH”
“ThrowecliFiLWH”
“ThrowecliffiLWH”
“ThrowecliffiLWH”
“Throwecliffe”
“Thrawecliffe”
hence ‘the house where Clio fell in love with him’ becomes ‘Thrawecliffe House’. what’s a ‘thraw’? i don’t know. is it on a cliff? maybe; that’s an author’s preogative.
suddenly the name of the house itself throws up new questions which an author in answering goes off down a rabbit hole of worldbuilding.
