Turns out that’s untrue. The more you express anger, the more you feel anger. There is no research that suggests that “venting” anger is a thing that allows your anger to escape and become external. Indeed, research indicates that focusing on negative things becomes a habit and the more we do it, the more we do it.
Those videos both took me about a week to put together and both times for more than a week afterward I saw the world as a collection of things to be analyzed for shittiness.
Dealing with negative emotions is very powerful. We need to recognize them, to confront them, not simply experience them.
