I Need A New Roommate, Desperately

So I came back to Toronto after winter break at home in the US to find that one of my two roommates is, abruptly, moving out because he wants to move in with his girlfriend. Very happy for them &c &c but because we got this news partway into the month this kinda fucked us in terms of getting a roommate for February, which is bad because my income doesn’t reeeally cover sudden 150% rent hikes. He’s searching for a replacement ostensibly but with ten days to go I’m not super optimistic.
Currently in the house is one queer girl in theater school (my roommate) and a queer, trans writer trying to figure out their gender identity (me), so finding a roommate comfortable with queerness is a priority. We’re in Kensington, close to UofT and OCAD, as well as downtown, and while the apartment is on the small side we’ve done a lot to make it comfortable, and the rent is good–$720 a month for each of us, which covers all our utilities.
Obviously right now I’ve got really compelling reasons to want to stay in Canada and not go back to the US, so being able to stay in this apartment is pretty important to me, particularly as the border to the US seems to be more and more fraught to cross, and particularly since I’m just slowly coming out of the closet and establishing a new gender identity.
I’d really appreciate any messages from anyone interested, or any reblogs and signal boosts as well!
We’re still looking for someone so if you know anyone looking for a place (or you know fleeing the US for Canada) send them our way! It looks like maybe the current roommate is going to keep paying for half this month until we can find someone but the sooner we can get someone in the better
I’m not totally sure but it looks like my current roommate may have straight up lied about looking for a replacement to fill his room so this has ratcheted up another level in desperation
