Following on from This and This, we can now safely know that apparently JKR believes that the Naga myth is from Indonesia.
As many others have already pointed out the term Naga/Nagin/Nagini is from Sanskrit and while it spread to Indonesia during the spread of Hinduism and trade routes and empire building… its Indian in origin, not Indonesian.
Edit: As @magicalmusemun excellently pointed out - please also note that none of the ethnic groups she actually cared to mention are Korean.
Any further news on this front will probably be posted at my sideblog for meta and analysis, @hapennydreams, so follow over there if you specifically want that.
