Fears over plans to harvest kelp off Scotland’s west coast:
thrownrockisad4:
CALL TO ACTION: Scots
(see @ullamuddle on twitter for the original thread): We have till Friday (24/8) to email MS.MarineLicensing@gov.scot to tell them why it’s a criminal idea to consider granting a licence to a company called Marine Biopolymers to mechanically dredge for kelp along vast areas of the West Scottish coastline.
You can also find out who your regional and list MSPs are on the Parli website (click here) and then drop them an email. You need to include your name and address (including postcode), and make it clear you are their constituent. Every one of the responses I got indicated that they file “form emails” at the bottom of their priority list, so it’s best if you write your own, but for ease, include the details that you are a constituent (“as your constituent, I am writing to you about….”) and that you are concerned that Marine Biopolymers is applying for a dredging licence (I expressed concern that a dredging licence was something that was even applyable FOR). I linked the Scotsman article (I don’t rate the paper tbh, but it’s a decent article) and then signed off with my name and full address including town and post code.
PLEASE REBLOG EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT SCOTTISH - IT’S YOUR PLANET, TOO
